Desiring to Help Others
In our work we come across so many beautiful, caring people. And we love to help others. And, there is the sad truth that in many situations the help we can offer is not enough to truly resolve what is going wrong.
It’s sobering to be honest with ourselves that sometimes, the most important thing we can offer another is our love, compassion and our honor for them, their life and their choices; choices they may not be seeing for how to move forward more successfully.
Discernment and even restraint from rescuing another may be necessary. Acknowledgment that there is only so much that can be done, by anyOne, other than the person directly in the challenging situation.
There are only so many things that we can put our names on (feel responsible for).
